
🧾 Ingredients:
- 800 g chicken (bone-in thighs or whole chicken pieces)
- 2 tbsp lard or oil
- 2 large onions (finely chopped)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 2 tbsp Hungarian sweet paprika
- 1 tomato (chopped) or 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 green pepper (chopped)
- 250 ml chicken broth
- 200 ml sour cream
- 1 tbsp flour (optional)
- Salt and black pepper (to taste)

👩🍳 Instructions:
- Build the base:
Heat lard in a large pot and cook onions slowly until very soft and slightly golden. - Add garlic and cook briefly.
- Add paprika:
Remove from heat and stir in paprika to keep its rich flavor.
- Cook chicken:
Add chicken pieces and coat well in the onion-paprika mixture. - Return to heat and cook for a few minutes.
- Add vegetables:
Stir in tomato and green pepper. Season with salt and pepper.
- Simmer:
Pour in broth, cover, and cook on low heat for 35–45 minutes until chicken is tender.
- Finish with cream:
Mix sour cream with flour, then gently stir into the sauce. - Simmer briefly on low heat (do not boil).
