Hungarian Vanilla Kifli Cookies (Vaníliás Kifli)

🧾 Ingredients:

  • 250 g all-purpose flour
  • 200 g butter (softened)
  • 100 g ground walnuts or almonds
  • 80 g powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract or 1 packet vanilla sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • Extra powdered sugar (for coating)

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, ground nuts, powdered sugar, and salt.
  2. Add butter and vanilla, then knead into a soft dough.
  3. Wrap and chill the dough for 30–60 minutes.
  4. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
  5. Shape small portions of dough into crescent (kifli) shapes.
  6. Place on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  7. Bake for 10–12 minutes until lightly golden (do not overbake).
  8. While still warm, roll cookies in powdered sugar.
