đŸ§Ÿ Ingredients:

  • 1 kg freshwater fish (carp is traditional, cut into pieces)
  • 2 large onions (finely chopped)
  • 2 tbsp Hungarian sweet paprika
  • 1 tsp hot paprika (optional)
  • 1 tomato (chopped) or 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 green pepper (chopped)
  • 1–1.2 liters water
  • Salt (to taste)

  1. Prepare base:
    In a large pot, add chopped onions, tomato, and green pepper.
  2. Pour in water and bring to a boil.

  1. Cook onions:
    Simmer for about 20–30 minutes until onions are very soft.

    Remove from heat and stir in sweet (and hot) paprika.

  1. Add fish:
    Return to heat and gently add fish pieces.
  2. Season with salt.
