🧾 Ingredients:

  • 500 g all-purpose flour
  • 250 ml milk (lukewarm)
  • 7 g dry yeast (or 20 g fresh yeast)
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Oil for frying

Toppings (classic):

  • 2–3 cloves garlic (crushed)
  • 100 ml sour cream
  • 150 g grated cheese (Edam, mozzarella, or similar)
  • Optional: salt or paprika

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Activate yeast:
    Mix yeast with lukewarm milk and sugar. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.

  1. Make the dough:
    In a bowl, combine flour and salt.
  2. Add yeast mixture and oil, then knead into a soft, elastic dough.

  1. Let it rise:
    Cover and let the dough rise for about 1 hour, until doubled in size.

  1. Shape the lángos:
    Divide dough into pieces.
    Stretch each piece by hand into a flat oval or round shape (don’t use a rolling pin).

  1. Fry:
    Heat oil in a deep pan.
    Fry each piece for 2–3 minutes per side until golden and puffed.
    Drain on paper towels.
