🇭🇺 Hungarian Meatloaf (Stefánia Szelet)

🧾 Ingredients:

  • 700 g ground pork (or pork + beef mix)
  • 2 slices bread (soaked in milk and squeezed) or 80 g breadcrumbs
  • 1 large onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1–2 tbsp Hungarian sweet paprika
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp dried marjoram (optional)
  • 3–4 hard-boiled eggs (for the center)
  • 2 tbsp oil or lard

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Prepare mixture:
    In a bowl, combine ground meat, soaked bread (or breadcrumbs), onion, garlic, raw eggs, paprika, mustard, salt, pepper, and marjoram.
  2. Mix thoroughly until well combined.

  1. Shape meatloaf:
    On a baking sheet or board, shape half of the meat mixture into a loaf.
  2. Place peeled hard-boiled eggs in a line down the center.
  3. Cover with the remaining meat mixture and shape into a loaf, sealing edges well.

    Place in a greased baking dish and drizzle with oil or lard.
