
🧾 Ingredients:
- 1 large cabbage (or sour cabbage leaves)
- 500 g ground pork (or pork + beef mix)
- 100 g rice (uncooked)
- 1 large onion (finely chopped)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 2 tbsp oil or lard
- 2 tbsp Hungarian sweet paprika
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp dried marjoram (optional)
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 500 ml tomato sauce or crushed tomatoes
- 500 ml water or broth
- 100 g smoked sausage or bacon (optional)
- 200 ml sour cream (for serving)

👩🍳 Instructions:
- Prepare cabbage:
Boil a whole cabbage for a few minutes (or use sour cabbage leaves). Separate leaves and trim thick stems.
- Make filling:
Sauté onion in oil until soft. Add garlic briefly. - In a bowl, mix meat, rice, sautéed onion, paprika, salt, pepper, and marjoram.
- Roll cabbage:
Place filling on each leaf, fold sides, and roll tightly.
- Layer pot:
Place chopped cabbage or sauerkraut on the bottom of a large pot. - Add stuffed rolls and optional smoked sausage or bacon.
- Mix tomato paste with sauce and water, then pour over.
- Cook:
Cover and simmer on low heat for 1.5–2 hours until rice and cabbage are tender.
