🇭🇺 Easy Hungarian Goulash

🧾 Ingredients:

  • 700 g beef stew meat (cut into cubes)
  • 2 onions (chopped)
  • 2 tbsp oil or lard
  • 2 tbsp Hungarian paprika
  • 2 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 2 tomatoes (chopped)
  • 1 green bell pepper (chopped)
  • 2 potatoes (cubed)
  • 1 carrot (sliced)
  • 1.2 L beef broth or water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp caraway seeds (optional)

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Heat oil in a large pot and sauté onions until golden.
  2. Remove from heat briefly and stir in the paprika to avoid burning.
  3. Add beef cubes and cook until browned.
  4. Stir in garlic, tomatoes, bell pepper, and caraway seeds. Cook for a few minutes.
  5. Pour in the broth, season with salt and pepper, then simmer on low heat for about 1½ hours until the beef becomes tender.
  6. Add potatoes and carrots, then continue cooking for 20–25 minutes until vegetables are soft.
  7. Adjust seasoning and serve hot with crusty bread.
