Easy Hungarian Goulash 🇭🇺

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs (900 g) beef, cubed
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 2 tbsp oil or lard
  • 2 tbsp sweet Hungarian paprika
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 carrots, sliced
  • 2 potatoes, cubed
  • 1 tomato, chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 4 cups beef broth or water
  • Salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Heat oil and cook onions until soft and golden.
  2. Remove from heat, stir in paprika, then add beef and garlic. Cook until browned.
  3. Add carrots, potatoes, tomato, and bell pepper.
  4. Pour in broth, season with salt and pepper, cover, and simmer 1½–2 hours until tender.
