
🇭🇺 Hungarian Cabbage Noodles with Caramelized Cabbage and Onions – Káposztás Tészta
🧾 Ingredients:
- 300 g wide egg noodles
- 1 small cabbage (about 600–800 g, finely shredded)
- 1 large onion (thinly sliced)
- 3 tbsp oil or butter
- 1–2 tbsp sugar (optional)
- Salt and black pepper (to taste)

👩🍳 Instructions:
- Cook noodles:
Boil in salted water until tender. Drain and set aside. - Prepare cabbage:
Sprinkle shredded cabbage with a little salt and let sit for 10–15 minutes, then squeeze out excess moisture.
- Caramelize:
Heat oil or butter in a large pan. Add onion and cook until soft. - Add cabbage and sugar. Cook over medium heat for 25–30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until soft, golden, and slightly caramelized.
- Combine:
Add cooked noodles to the cabbage mixture and mix well. - Season with salt and plenty of black pepper.
