Hungarian Noodles (Nokedli)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½–¾ cup (120–180 ml) water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp butter (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine flour and salt.
  2. Add eggs and gradually mix in the water until a thick, sticky batter forms.
  3. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  4. Using a spaetzle maker, colander, or spoon, drop small pieces of batter into the boiling water.
  5. Cook for 2–3 minutes, or until the noodles float to the surface.
  6. Drain well and rinse briefly with warm water.
  7. Toss with butter if desired.
