Hungarian Plum Cake – Szilvás Pite 🇭🇺

Ingredients

  • 250 g all-purpose flour
  • 150 g sugar
  • 125 g butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 500 g plums, pitted and halved
  • 1–2 tbsp sugar for topping
  • Optional: powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a baking pan.
  2. Mix flour, baking powder, and sugar.
  3. Add butter, eggs, and vanilla; mix into smooth batter.
  4. Pour batter into pan and spread evenly.
  5. Arrange plum halves on top, cut side down. Sprinkle with 1–2 tbsp sugar.
  6. Bake 35–40 minutes until golden and set.
  7. Cool, optionally dust with powdered sugar, and serve.
