
🍑 Hungarian Plum Dumplings (Szilvásgombóc)
Ingredients:
- 500 g potatoes (peeled)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour (approx.)
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 pinch salt
- 8–10 plums (pitted)
- 2–3 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
For coating:
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 2–3 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp sugar

Instructions:
- Boil potatoes until soft, mash, and let cool.
- Mix mashed potatoes with egg, butter, salt, and flour to form a soft dough.
- Roll dough out and cut into squares.
- Place a plum in each square, fill with a little sugar and cinnamon, and seal into dumplings.
- Bring salted water to a boil and cook dumplings until they float (about 5–7 minutes).
- In a pan, melt butter, add breadcrumbs, and toast until golden; stir in sugar.
- Roll cooked dumplings in the breadcrumb mixture.
Serve warm, optionally with extra sugar or sour cream.
