  • ½ tsp freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Remove the core from the cabbage and grate it coarsely.
  2. Heat the oil or butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the sugar and cook for 1–2 minutes until it begins to caramelize lightly.
  4. Stir in the grated cabbage and cook for 20–30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage becomes soft and golden brown.
  5. Season with salt and black pepper.
  6. Meanwhile, cook the noodles according to the package directions. Drain well.
  7. Add the cooked noodles to the cabbage mixture and toss until evenly combined.
