Hungarian-Style Crispy Meat Patties (Fasírt)

Ingredients:

  • 500 g ground pork (or pork + beef)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (optional)
  • 1 slice white bread or 2 tbsp breadcrumbs, soaked in milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp mustard (optional)
  • 2–3 tbsp flour (for coating)
  • 3–4 tbsp vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions:

  1. Mix meat, onion, garlic, soaked bread, egg, salt, pepper, paprika, and mustard.
  2. Shape into oval or round patties.
  3. Dredge in flour, shake off excess.
  4. Fry in heated oil over medium heat 4–5 min per side until golden and cooked through.
  5. Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
