
Sizzling Chinese Pepper Steak with Onions π₯©π§ π₯
Ingredients
- 1 lb flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain
- 2 bell peppers (green or mixed colors), sliced
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
Marinade
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp sugar
- Β½ tsp black pepper
Sauce
- ΒΌ cup soy sauce
- Β½ cup beef broth or water
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional but recommended)
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- Β½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp sesame oil (optional)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix steak with marinade. Let sit 15 minutes.
- Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat.
- Add steak in a single layer and sear quickly, 1β2 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pan, add onions and bell peppers. Stir-fry 2β3 minutes until slightly tender but crisp.
- Stir sauce ingredients together and pour into the pan. Cook until thickened.
- Return steak to the pan and toss everything together for 1β2 minutes until sizzling and glossy.
